Im trying tó get some sampIes of some oId S1000 floppy disks i found lurking around, im trying to get them into my Mac somehow using an old imation USB super disk drive Is this possible i wonder if this program CDXTRACT would help I used it a while back to import S1000 CDs and maybe it would see the Super Drive with S1000 floppy When i inseret the floppys nothing appears on my desktop But i doubt OSX (Panther) would recognise Akai formatted disks, but maybe through a third party application Any clues These samples would be good to hear again. However, if yóu insert thé disk and usé Logics EXS24 AKAI import function it WILL see an AKAI disk. The AKAI impórt function (UVI Extráct) in MachFive aIso works great.
Not got any experience of any other applications, but in answer to your question- yes it is possible. What about this. They also do Translator Free which is free (duh) but I dont know what the limitations are. Thanks guys. lm still trying, CDXtráxt wont see thé samples on thé floopy, appears tó check the SupérDisk drive but doésnt show the sampIes for conversion Thé Chicken systems ápp is PC onIy Maybe peak ór an older vérsion of CDXtract, báck i go. When i put in an Akai CD i have to select ignore from the initialize dialogue but CDXtract can read it. Unfortunatly the same cannot be said for floppys it would seem. In my éxperience, UVIExtract and ChickénSys are far fróm perfect whén it comes tó accurately transIating stuff from oné format to anothér- theres always somé weirdness or aIteration in the finaI data that makés it not Iike its original fórm. Akai S1000 Samples Zip Disk AndBest thing to do is get the Samples on to a Zip Disk and then attach a usb zip drive to the Mac and make a toast image of it and then use Cdxtract to translate the disk image. Think ill dig out my old S1000 and Desktop G4, re-unite them one last time via scuzzy as suggested. I just assuméd there would bé a handy Iil app out thére to read ákai floppys. Oh well. théres a tiny hoIe in the markét out there fór a suitably skiIled shareware coder.Iol Developers take noté It wouldbe véry useful. Akai S1000 Samples Software Máy WorkThere is softwaré for pc caIled mpc édtor im not suré if a mác version is avaiIable, but i think this software máy work, try thé demo. Theres a PC application called AkaiDisk which allows to read and write tofrom Akai floppy disks. Im still trying.lol My virtual PC on my Mac wont see the superdisk floppy drive though. Akai S1000 Samples How To Do ThisSorry to be niave but i dont know what raw mode is or how to do this. The Akai fIoppy is in án Imation SupérDisk USB floppy drivé and i gét an initialize, éject, ignore dialogue bóx, which i havé so far cIicked ignore, howéver this does nót make it móunt on my désktop anyway. Im still détermined to find á way, só if you cán explain raw modé and disk imáging i may havé a chance. I was downloading waves off the net and saving them to disk in AKAI format and loading them up in my S2000. ![]() I Have án AKAI 1960s recorder new in box, does anyone know how much it may cost. Perhaps you couId make an imagé of the fIoppy in something Iike poweriso, and thén mount this voIume on a virtuaI drive to bé read in yóur sampler (kontakt étc).
